Hosting
Hosting means supplying or renting space on a server where
your website will reside. The server must obviously be permanently
connected to the Internet and should be housed in a secure
environment with protection against power failure and malicious
actions. It should be regularly backed up so that your site
can be restored should the systems fail.

The Server
A server is just a computer that has some specific software
installed on it so that it can respond to many hundreds or
thousands of users simultaneously viewing your website (and
possibly others that reside on the same computer)
